Spring Cleaning

So I've been cleaning like a crazy girl.  My apartment smells extra clean (it usually smells pretty good, now it's just a bit better).

The weather is fabulous.  I can't wait for it to rain a bit so it's not so dusty and muddy everywhere.

I have been doing bootcamp three times a week.  It's super challenging but I love it.  My body is confused and holding on to every calorie.  In another week or so it should figure it out and let some of them go!

I am super busy with school and coaching field hockey.  I am trying hard to resist starting to countdown to summer vacay, haha.  At least it's 4 day weeks from here until the end of the month!

Have a great week!!

Arizona you warm my soul!

So we had a great time in AZ.  I actually cried yesterday when we got home.  We golfed, tanned, swam, shopped and even went to Bingo!  It was great.  Marc got along great with my parents (I knew he would, but he was nervous).  I didn't go to crazy food wise, it's so hot that you don't feel like eating much.  I bought some great summer dresses, now if the stupid snow would just go away!!

Tomorrow I am back at it.  I have book 3 bootcamp sessions this week (mwf) and have lots of field hockey so that will keep me busy).

Only 94 days until Australia!!! (I counted yesterday when I was so sad about being home from Arizona)

One week to go!

So a week from today we'll be on our way to Arizona.  I can't wait!  The weather is going to be hot, we have lots of fun stuff plans and I love seeing my parents (I have not lived at home or in the same city as them since I was 18 so I really miss spending time with them)

I have a horrible sinus cold.  My nose is literally dripping.  It's so nasty, and just when I think it's getting better it flares up again.  FML

I missed two workouts last week because I have been working crazy hours at London Drugs.  I only have 3 shifts left which makes me happy, but at the same time a little sad.  There is no way I could keep working there during the field hockey season.  The team practices / has games 4 games a week and will be playing in 2 or  3 tournaments.  I'm just the coach and it makes me tired thinking about all that, lol

I bought a Groupon for 30 fitness classes for 30$ (regular prices 300$).  It's valid at tons of different activities.  Next week I am doing a Zumba class and a Bootcamp - for 120 minutes of activity which counts as 6 workouts (I only do 20 minutes a day / or the equivalent in a week).  Anything more and I just can't keep my hunger in check.  I am excited.  I have all the Zumba dvd's and do them often, but I have never been to a class.  I am glad to have the opportunity to take 28 other classes, and I also have a voucher for 12 bootcamp sessions that I bought a few weeks ago.  This should whip me into bikini shape for Australia!

I'm off to work at London Drugs - did I mention I only have three shifts left (only 15 more hours of cranky people!!)

Have a great Sunday!

Week 2 Done!

So I did pretty good last week.  Got all my workouts in and tracked up to Friday.  Friday we went to Edmonton which meant dinner with friends and family and I might have had one (ok two) Shamrock Shakes.  But they're out of my system for another year!

We went to the waterpark on Saturday and it was tons of fun.  My neck is super sore from some wild siding, but it should be fine.  I'm back to tracking hardcore today and already got my workout in.

Only two full weeks left until we'll be soaking up the sun in Phoenix.  I can't wait!!!

Week One Done!

So I had a good week.  Tracked everything and did my workouts.  I skipped Thursday but then did a double on Friday.  The scale has already started moving!

I am glad it's the weekend, I am so tired.  No big plans for the next few days.  Mostly just hanging out watching tv and reading my Kindle.

Have a great weekend!!

Slacker Alert!!

So as soon as I found my motivation I lost it :(  The weather has been horrid, I've been sick and a million other excuses!

Now it's back for good.  Only 26 days until bikini time in Arizona.  I want to rock my bikini and not feel self conscious (I'm not really self conscious at all, ever, but still).  I am looking forward to lounging, golf and spending time with my parents.

So I'm eating better (and staying in my points) and working out everyday.  Just 20 minutes of Zumba, anything more makes me soooooooo hungry, and 29 points do not go very far!

I am meal planning, M is on board with my no treats plan and I can do it!

I found it!!

My lost motivation, that is!  I am so glad, I need to get my eating under control.  I tracked and stayed within my points.  I'm great at tracking and writing it all down, but that doesn't mean it's within my daily points!

I am pretty much half way done the Couch to 5K program and I'm feeling great.  The workouts are feeling good and I've really been focusing on my speed.  Hopefully the rest of the program goes smoothly and I can keep it up.

I am exhausted.  It's a three day week for the kids and they are extra wound up and in vacay mode.  I'm tired of telling them there is no need to yell all the time (seriously, some of them yell all the time).  I'm looking forward to convention.  There isn't really anything in my subject area but there are some good keynote speakers that should be interested (including Tommy Europe, from the Last 10 Pounds Bootcamp)

I'm tucking in with my Kindle (and hopefully won't fall asleep and drop it on my face like I did last night :P)

How quick a year goes!

So it's been one year since I originally fell and hurt my knee.  It's been a long road of physio, surgery and more physio but I'm back and (almost) better than ever!!

Before I hurt my knee I was 145lbs and in the best shape of my life.  I was working out to exhaustion 3 times a week and I looked hot.  For the last year I have been taking it easy on the workouts and right now I'm 151lbs and have a soft belly.  I'm very proud that over this year of no activity, the frustration of being hurt and throwing myself regular pity parties, I only gained 6 pounds.  But I want them gone, and I want my hot body back!

I am half way done the C25K program and I love it.  I was super sick with the flu last week so I missed one workout last week and one this week.  I am back in love with running and almost look forward to having to drag myself out of bed at 605 to get on the treadmill.  I am looking forward to being able to run outside, I much prefer it to the treadmill.

Tonight me and M are going tobogganing.  We are both really excited - my kids at school think we are major losers, lol.  Tomorrow I have to work at LD and then on Sunday we are doing to painting at M's house.  It will be a busy weekend, but good!

Have a good weekend!

Go away winter!

So it's snowy and freezing and gross here.  Apparently the weather will be better later this week, I sure hope so.

So I've finished 2.5 weeks of the C25K program and still loving it.  Tomorrow is another run - it's too cold to run outside and the only time I can get in the weight room at work to run on the treadmill is before school.  Leaving my house at 645 is painful but it's nice to get the workout in.

I've been good about being on plan since having to pay in January.  I will be back in the "free" zone by the end of February!  I got groceries today and loaded up on raspberries.  Raspberries are my favorite, eating them takes me back to when we used to eat them in Grandma's garden until we were sick.  We usually ate most of her neighbours too!

We are booking our Australia trip tomorrow.  Only 5 months to get into bikini shape!!

Have a good week

A bump in the road

So I went for my WI this morning - 152.2.  I was disappointed, but oh well.  I have been running consistently for two weeks and my body is still adjusting.  I want to eat everything in sight so I need to get that under control.  It's also tom so that might have had something to do with it.  Anyways, time to move on.

I have done the first two weeks of C25K and I'm still loving it!  The workouts get easier throughout the week.  I'm looking forward to completing the program; then I plan to run 5k (30 minutes) 3 times a week.  My body changes very quickly when I start running.  My belly is already less jelly - woohoo!

M has the flu so I'm at home tonight.  And bored, lol.  His parents are here (and staying with him) otherwise I would have just hung out at his place but there's only so much family fun time when it's not your family :P.  Tomorrow we are going to look at flooring samples and curtains.  His house is coming along nicely and soon the upstairs should be finished (except the bathroom).  It looks amazing, it's a totally different house.

I am not working this weekend, and am looking forward to just lazing around!!

Have a great weekend

Run Run as Fast as I can.......

So me and running are back in a relationship.  Yesterday I did week 2 day 1 workout and it went well.  I am trying to work on my speed instead of just putzing along.  I am so glad that I'm running again.

I've done my Zumba "flat abs" video a couple of times this week.  I like it, and it's all standing exercises (not laying down).  It sure makes me sweat and hopefully will work on my jelly belly.

I am tired because I've been staying up late reading my book!  I'm in the last little bit of "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo".  We downloaded the whole series and M read them already and said they are all really good.  But I need to stop staying up so late reading!!!!

I am pmsing to the max and running makes me want to eat everything in sight.  I hopped on the scale this morning and disaster - 152.1  I have to weigh in this week (Friday) and I need to be 151 or less to not have to pay.  And I'm cheap so I don't wanna pay!!!

Oh Running, How I've Missed You!

So I've finished the first week of the C25K running program.  I am back in love with running (we break up alot, and then I see running everywhere and miss it, lol).  My knee is holding up well, I have to remember to stretch and I ice it down at night, but it's not giving me too much trouble.  My physio is really happy with my progress (she may have been really happy about her 3 week trip to Brazil and just pretending to be happy about my knee, who knows, haha).  I figured out how to make "podcasts" where I can say the intervals (walk now, run now) over top of songs that I pick.  It makes it much easier than watching the clock, remember when to walk and run etc.  Good thing for youtube showing me how!!

I am glad it's Friday.  I am working tonight at LD - I'm tired, but hopefully it will go by quickly.  Tomorrow we are driving out to Banff to go to the hot springs.  I am excited, I've never been.  We wanted to go last weekend but the weather was too horrible.  Tomorrow night M has hockey and then we will have a DDR showdown - the other mat came this week!!  Sunday I'm working again and then it's back to school Monday. Where does the time go?  At least I'm loving every minute.

I had a bit of a food free for all on Monday and Tuesday but am back on track now.  Hopefully I can shake those two pounds before the end of the month - I would love to see 147 at my monthly weigh in next Friday!

Have a great weekend!!

Old Habits Die Hard

So I've been cheating on WW lately.  I've been sneaking snacks, saying they won't make a difference.  Bad plan!!

I vow to clean up my act!!

I started the "couch to 5K" program today on the treadmill at work.  The workout flew by, and I've missed running so much!  I can't wait to run again on Wednesday.

I wore my punishment pants on Saturday night - they felt ok but they should feel better!!

Have a good week

Have I mentioned I don't like......

Jillian Michaels.  Her voice is like nails on a chalkboard to me.  But I wanted a workout and was feeling up for the challenge so I put on "Banish Fat and Boost Metabolism".  I've had it forever but never done it. It was TOUGH!!  I actually only did 34 minutes (out of 45).  I was sweating hard and breathing like a horse. And while it was a good workout, I really just don't like her.  Oh well, I can say I tried.

I weighed myself this morning.  149.  So not too bad.  I snuck a peek on New Years Eve (after a week of stuffing my face) and was at 156.5 so 149 is awesome.  I am totally committed to hitting my goal of 147 this month.  I'm also doing more intense workouts.  My physio cleared me for running so next week I am starting Couch to 5 K.  If you want to learn to run, it's an amazing program that starts out slow.  I also found some podcasts where a voice comes on and tells you when to run and when to walk.  I think if you google "ithinspire" you should get to her blog where she has the podcasts.  I'm not very computer smart and I could figure out how to download them and get them into my itunes - so I'm sure you can too.

Today was the last day of classes for this semester.  We now have exam break until February 1.  I am so glad, I am tired and this is a great break to recharge before second term.  I still go to work everyday, but no teaching, just exam supervision and marking.

Gotta hit the shower - finally caught my breath after Jillian punished me!

If this doesn't motivate me......

I don't know what will!  I took some "before" pics and I can see I've got alot of toning work to do!  Due to the curvature in my spine (despite it being surgically corrected) I have that big "curve" on the left side of my body.  I will also always have that crease on the left side in the back.  And my left ribs also sticks out.  Most days it doesn't bother me, but some days I throw myself a little pity party about not having a nice "shape". I also saw this girl with the nicest shoulders / traps I have ever seen while at the gym for physio.  Mine used to be very defined - I'm gonna get them back!

I have been on plan all week.  I've dipped into my weeklies (28/49) but I'm feeling good.  I'll report on Monday.

This weekend I am working at LD and will spend lots of time cuddling with my honey.  We both got Kindles (e - readers) for Christmas so we'll be reading.  I also just got Dance Dance Revolution and love playing it.  We're waiting for the second mat to arrive to I can make M play with me!!

Have a great weekend!

I don't wanna!!!

Go back to work on Thursday!  I love being on vacation; sleeping in, doing nothing, being a lazy mofo.  But tomorrow is my last day of vacay.  Back to work on Thursday.  The kids will be having a rough day and having hard time getting out of holiday mode.  At least it's only 2 days and then the weekend.

So I've had a good few days.  I've tracked all my food and staying within my points.  I've also started riding my "bike to nowhere" again - it's in front of my tv, there is really no excuse.  I have not weighed myself yet, I am waiting until next Monday to update.  I am giving myself this week to get back in the groove and drinking the ocean's worth of water to flush out the junk I've been eating over the holidays.

I have physio tomorrow and we are going to evaluate my ability to start running again.  I've jogged on the treadmill for 15 minutes a few times and my knee didn't collapse / my leg didn't fall off (I was seriously scared I was going to fall off the treadmill).  I am planning to follow the "couch to 5 k" program.  It's totally learn to run but my conditioning sucks right now, I am out of breath just thinking about running.  It's also a nine week program and I happen to be going to Arizona in 10 weeks, and I would love to go running with my Pops in the desert.  My Bro and Dad are training for a marathon (full or half TBA) and I am so jealous.  They went running while we were in Ottawa and I had to stay home and pout.

My motivation to stay on plan - I bought a bunch of clothes in the States over Christmas.  They are "fulus" (knock off Lulu) and they are for traveling in Australia.  They fit good now, but if I tone up some of the chub they will feel better!

Have a good week!
